Of Presidents and Pop

Here’s a couple of fun numbers I found in the new issue of American History Magazine (August 2010): 2 – That’s the number of U.S. Presidents who were arrested while in office. Franklin Pierce allegedly struck a woman while driving a carriage and Uylsses Grant was speeding. The charges against Pierce were dropped and Grant paid a fine of $20. I wonder what the number would be for U.S. Presidents who should have been arrested while in office? 79 – That’s the number of days in 1985 between the introduction of New Coke and the return to classic formula that everyone loved so much better. Coke. It’s the real thing and the new formula fooled no one. It was a modern-day Edsel story.
