Hearts of Valor, Voices of Courage
A Gettysburg Writers Brigade Anthology
Series: Gettysburg Writers Brigade
“Wherever you go, go with all your heart.”
-Confucius
The Gettysburg Writers Brigade, a group of writers dedicated to improving their writing skills, is proud to have published a series of anthologies over the past several years. This fourth anthology in that collection is filled with fiction and nonfiction stories by authors from the Brigade.
In past anthologies, the Brigade has written tales focusing on the pivotal Civil War Battle of Gettysburg or on the town of Gettysburg itself. In a slight, but intriguing, departure, this anthology expands the Gettysburg-centric theme to encompass “courage and valor.”
Here are but a few examples:
- A woman mourns the loss of her husband as she raises her child in the aftermath of the Civil War.
- Deep in Vietnam, under fire from all sides, a Marine staff sergeant deftly guides his patrol to safety.
- An alcoholic finds the inner strength and the external catalyst he needs to turn his life around.
- An idyllic first date goes horribly wrong and forces a young woman to make a daring rescue.
- Events of a controversial war shape the relationship between a protesting sister and her soldier brother.
Hearts of Valor, Voices of Courage covers courage and valor in its many forms, each with its own perspective. Come with us on a journey meant to inform, entertain and inspire.
